Ultrasound imaging; DUT lists a four-year full-time qualification. This is a separate qualification from diagnostic radiography. DUT 2027: NSC with 28 points or more; English, Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences at level 4, plus one other 20-credit subject at level 4. Mathematical Literacy and Technical Mathematics are not accepted in place of Mathematics, and Technical Science is not accepted in place of Physical Sciences. DUT's basic training requirements: minimum age 18 years as at end of December 2026, and students must be physically fit; an applicant with severe disability and/or blood-related illness may not be accepted, and all students have compulsory medicals in their first week. The CAO gives first preference to applicants who never studied previously at any other university. CAO 2027 (DU-D-RAS): applicants are only considered if they place this programme as choice 1; entrance test, clinical-centre visits (at least 8 hours in the department) and interviews may be required. The CAO lists 31 August 2026 as the closing date for DUT's radiography degrees, so 2027 applications have closed.

Imaging and treatment using radioactive materials, with clinical training. This is a separate qualification from diagnostic radiography. Neither DUT's 2027 Study Opportunities prospectus nor the CAO Handbook for 2027 entry lists this degree (DUT's radiography department lists three degrees for 2027: Diagnostic Radiography, Diagnostic Sonography and Radiotherapy and Oncology), so a 2027 intake appears unlikely. Confirm with DUT before planning around it.

Planning and delivering radiation treatment, including cancer care. This is a separate qualification from diagnostic radiography. The CAO gives first preference to applicants who never studied previously at any other university. Profession knowledge, interview and possible aptitude test; academic ranking and programme choice matter. Minimums do not guarantee admission. On-time CAO applications for 2027 closed on 30 September 2026; from 1 October the CAO accepts late applications only for selected DUT programmes, so check the CAO.

A current new-student intake has not been confirmed. A May 2026 joint university statement reports an unresolved accreditation and registration dispute; confirm resumption directly before applying.

This DUT route is not open to new applicants at present. The universities reported no new intakes over several years due to the unresolved accreditation, assessment and registration dispute. The 2027 DUT prospectus lists Dental Assisting, not Dental Technology. Confirm resumption and the exact qualification with DUT before applying; Dental Assisting is a different career.

The CAO gives first preference to applicants who never studied previously at any other university. Interview, placement test and voluntary-practice report. Eight hours of relevant voluntary service encouraged. Ranked selection: the 30 highest-ranked applicants are allowed access to the programme; minimums do not guarantee admission. On-time CAO applications for 2027 closed on 30 September 2026; from 1 October the CAO accepts late applications only for selected DUT programmes, so check the CAO.

A degree or previous accounting background is not required to begin this entry route. Start with the Certificate in Business Accounting; confirm registration and tuition-provider requirements. No university APS threshold applies in these sources.

NMU 2027: Applicant Score 350 with Mathematics, or 365 with Mathematical Literacy. For Technical Mathematics NMU's page gives two values: 350 under 'Qualification details' and 365 in the 'Curriculum for 2027' rules; confirm with NMU which applies. A practical standard equivalent to Grade 6 and a theory standard equivalent to Grade 5 of the external music examining bodies (for the first instrument and theory modules). Audition on your first instrument and a music theory entrance test. 4 years (South Campus, Gqeberha).

NMU uses its own Applicant Score, not the APS. The BMus is also offered with a Music Technology, Performing Arts or School Music focus, and as extended programmes.

Rhodes prospectus: APS 45 or more for a provisional offer, 34–44 at the Dean's discretion (p.15 table; the p.7 admissions text says Dean's-discretion places usually go to applicants with 36–44); English Home Language 60% or First Additional Language 65%; Life Orientation at least level 4 (not counted). For Western art music and jazz, Instrumental Music Studies 1 needs matric Music or an equivalent (ABRSM, UNISA or Trinity Grade 6) plus an audition; the African music ensemble needs no prior experience. 4 years.

Rhodes counts each subject's percentage divided by 10 (six subjects, excluding Life Orientation), so its APS is not on the usual 42-point scale. Only the file name says 2026: Rhodes' Admission Gateway links this file as its Undergraduate Prospectus 2027.

UFH course page: English Home Language or First Additional Language level 4, another language level 4, four other subjects (one at level 3 and three at level 4) and Life Orientation level 4. 4 years.

The course page shows no intake year, admission score, audition requirement or selection process.

UNISA: NSC with degree endorsement and APS 20, with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning; plus Music passed as a school subject, or Theory of Music (UNISA Grade 5, ABRSM or Trinity Grade 6 theory, or UNISA's Music Foundations short learning programme). Distance learning, NQF level 7, 360 credits.

The UNISA page lists no audition. Applicants without the music requirement are referred to the BA with Musicology as a major or the Music Foundations short learning programme. The page does not state an intake year.
