Entry details and typical minimums

English at 50-60% at most schools; some universities also want a second language. Among the universities we cover that offer nursing, UJ requires both Physical Sciences and Life Sciences; Stellenbosch, UKZN and UP require Life Sciences; and NWU, UFS and Wits accept either.

Typical minimums: NWU (2027): APS 25, Mathematics or Maths Literacy at level 4 (50%), Physical Sciences or Life Sciences at level 4, and the language of tuition (English or Afrikaans) at level 4. UWC accepts Maths Lit at 70% instead of Maths at 50%. UKZN quotes APS 30. Varies widely.
